What it is
Why we image in-office: Speed matters in post-accident care. An outside imaging referral typically adds 5–10 days to your evaluation. In-office digital X-ray means we can identify or rule out structural concerns during your first visit and start treatment the same day.
Why digital: Digital X-ray uses significantly lower radiation than film-based systems, produces images instantly, and lets us share scans easily with attorneys, other providers, or specialists when referrals are needed.
What it's used for
- Fracture or dislocation — identified or ruled out same-day
- Spinal alignment changes — post-collision postural shifts
- Disc-space narrowing — indicator of disc involvement
- Spondylolisthesis (vertebral slippage) — structural instability
- Pre-existing degenerative changes — relevant to claim documentation
- Indicators that point to MRI — as the next imaging step
What a session looks like
X-rays are taken in our office during your first visit when clinically indicated. The process takes a few minutes per view. Images are reviewed during the same visit so we can discuss findings and adjust the treatment plan in real time.
What the evidence says
X-ray doesn't visualize soft tissue, discs, or nerves directly — those require MRI. But X-ray rules out fracture and provides a structural baseline that informs the rest of the exam.
We image when the exam findings suggest structural involvement, when claim documentation requires a baseline, or when we need to rule out something specific. We don't image speculatively or routinely.
