What it is
Diversified is a manual, hands-on chiropractic technique that uses specific, controlled, high-velocity low-amplitude thrusts to restore motion to joints that have become restricted. It's the technique most chiropractors learn first and use most often, refined over a century of clinical practice.
What it's used for
- Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine restrictions — the spinal foundation of crash injuries
- Sacroiliac joint dysfunction — common after lumbar trauma
- Rib restrictions — common after seatbelt loading
- Extremity joints — shoulder, knee, wrist when indicated
What a session looks like
You're positioned to isolate the joint being treated. The contact is brief and specific. Many patients hear or feel a "click" or "pop" — this is gas being released from joint fluid, similar to cracking a knuckle. It is not the sound of anything breaking or being moved out of place.
Most patients find adjustments comfortable. Some experience mild soreness for 24 hours afterward, similar to post-exercise soreness.
What the evidence says
Diversified adjustments performed by a trained chiropractor on appropriately screened patients have a strong safety profile. We screen for contraindications (vascular conditions, severe osteoporosis, fracture, inflammatory conditions in active flare) before adjusting. If something isn't safe to adjust, we don't.
PIP coverage
Diversified Adjustment is covered by your Texas PIP when medically necessary.
